It’s all about the right technique
Both of the decorating techniques below are based on two different basic principles, each of them you should know before starting:

Application technique
This is the most simple and most popular way of redecorating walls and other surfaces. It always works out, even if you are a beginner and do not have any experience in this field.

1. Paint the wall evenly with the lighter basis- colour tone using the mako roller, then let it dry.

2. Then apply the darker special-effects paint using the mako Creative Line tools according to one of the decorating techniques, which are described below.

3. Let it dry. If you like use an acrylic glaze or varnish for protection.

Suitable tools:
All tools belonging to the mako Creativ Line program.

Removal technique
This technique requires a bit of patience, because you will have to clean the tools numerous times during the painting process, but the outcome that is achieved is especially attractive..

1. Paint the wall evenly with the basis-tone using the mako roller and let it dry, if possible over night.

2. Apply a thin layer of the special-effect paint in small portions (app. 1 m²) to the wall surface using the mako roller. Using the appropriate tools from the mako Creative Line, partially clear away the paint while it is still wet. (It is much easier if you work with someone else, who can help you a little.)

3. Important! You have to clean up your tools after each layer of removed paint, so you don’t apply the just removed paint back to the wall.

Suitable tools:
mako stippling brush, mako natural sponge, mako ragging cloth, mako leather ball, mako leather ragging roller, mako wood graining roller - maserboy.

Important during each of the redecorating techniques:

Make sure you clean up your tools after you have finished your work with clear water and let them air-dry, so you can use them again the next time without any problems.

If you have painted wooden surfaces: (let them always dry at least for 24 h), use an acrylic glaze or varnish finish for protection afterwards.

A piece of good advice: before painting with the special-effect paint always check their effect on a piece of paper or cardboard first!

The right paint
For redecorating your walls we recommend opaque emulsion paint or lustrous latex paint, for wooden surfaces acrylic gloss.

Ask your specialized retailer about special paint (there are transparent ones), with longer finishing time and please don’t forget to ask about the surface preparation that will be needed.
