| Surface
Smooth surfaces indoors, woodchip wallpaper, slightly structured
wallpaper or wooden surfaces. The surface shouldn’t
absorb too much of the paint.
What you need
Paint:
Emulsion paint or latex paint for the walls, acrylic glaze
for wooden surfaces, in each case use a basis-colour tone
and then another tone for the special-effects.
For the basis-colour tone:
Use the mako wall roller or mako glaze roller.
For the sponging design:
use either the mako natural sponge and gloves or the mako
flock sponge or mako leather special effects stamp.
For the stippling design:
Use the mako stippling brush or mako currycomb sponge.
How to do it the right way
| 1. |
1. Paint the wall evenly with the basis-colour
tone using the mako roller and let it dry good. |
| |
|
| 2. |
2. Wet the mako special-effects tool slightly
with water then start spoting on the wall randomly with
the special-effects paint. It’s up to you how big
the distances between the single spots are. Watch out
that no colour edges can be seen.
Don’t dip your tools too deep into the special-effects
paint and make sure to wipe off a bit of paint each time
on a piece of paper, so the paint does not drip while
applying the stippling technique.
If you want to use more than one special-effect color,
you will have to take time to let the first applied paint
dry a little bit before applying the next, so the colors
don’t run into each other.
We advise you to use either acrylic glaze or varnish to
protect your wooden surfaces. But do not forget to let
the painted surface dry for at least 24 h before starting. |
